REWEU
The project (Re)uniting the East and West: Reflections on the 2004 EU enlargement (REWEU) is focused on the commemoration of the 2004 “big bang” EU enlargement at the occasion of its 20th anniversary in May 2024. The European Commission invited 150 randomly selected people to Brussels, who advised it over the course of three weekends on what the EU budget for the next seven years should look like. STVR | Hungary's success in the negotiations of EU sanctions against Russia
The EU has extended economic sanctions against Russia. This was confirmed by the head of diplomacy Kaja Kallas. Hungary had reservations, but eventually relented after assurances on energy security. Martial law declared by the President of South Korea lasted six hours. However, President Yoon Suk-yeol did not present any evidence to accuse the opposition of collaborating with North Korea. South Korean MPs and citizens, who, like the police, gathered at Parliament, created such pressure that the head of state backed down from his decision after a few hours. Tereza Novotná, an Associate Research Fellow at EUROPEUM Institute, commented on the situation in the podcast Výtah of Respekt magazine.
