From farm to fork: European experience in introduction of implementation and enforcement of the veterinary and food safety acquis

Executive Summary:

The project developed policies for securing better life standards of farmers/producers and safe foodstuffs through rightful implementation and enforcement of veterinary and food safety acquis. In order to achieve this goal the project reviewed the plans for modernization and removal of insufficiencies in meat and milk processing plants in Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Czech Republic and Poland, screened safety and hygiene measures for HACCP standards improvement of food processing establishments, counted on the achievements of good manufacturing and hygiene practices in the area of milk and meat processing, aimed to develops new perspectives for manufacturing of foodstuffs (from “farm to fork” method) in response to the ecology, health and competition and shared the experience of EU countries (UK, France) how to raise the control effectiveness on the farms and processing plants safety. The project activities included organization of one 1,5 day long international conference, publishing of conference proceedings (in Bulgarian and English) and specialized Manual (in Bulgarian).
