July 7 - July 19, 2012 - Prague, Czech Republic
On Site

The perfect setting for this exceptional educational exchange makes the Czech capital of Prague, a spectacular city and a lively center of culture. Fortunately, Prague's city center and some of the suburbs did not suffer much from damages during the World War II. Furthermore, the city did not experience a radical rebuilding during the Communist era. Recovered from floods, Prague remained one of the best-preserved medieval cities of Europe with winding narrow streets, gothic churches and baroque palaces. No less of interest is a wide selection of preserved Romanesque, Neo-Renaissance, Art Nouveu, Cubits and Socialist -Realist architecture. The programme of the Institute is designed to ensure that students will have the time and opportunity to enjoy Prague's many historical points of interest, theatrical and musical performances, and its magnificent architecture.
Culture: that is Prague. It was the European City of Culture in the year 2000. Students will most likely go to have a hard time choosing where to go first. Prague is famous around the world for its numerous bars and restaurants, night clubs and discos. There are so many cultural events going on at the same time that even if you live in Prague you have no chance to track them all.

The staff of the Institute will organise social events for students, including tour around Prague, visits to the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Senate and RFE/RL, happy hours, a pool party and sporting events. All of these activities will be supported by experts providing students with interesting commentaries.
In addition to a variety of worth visiting sights in the Czech Republic, Prague is also surrounded by popular destinations for travelling in Central and Eastern Europe. For instance, Vienna and Bratislava are only four hours by train away and Budapest and Cracow are reachable in less than nine hours.
Additional information on Prague can be found in the Useful Links section of the website.
