EUROPEUM Institute for European policy and Slovak Foreign Policy Association organized a closed seminar “Eastern Partnership – Moldova and Ukraine”. The event took place on June 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. The event was held in Czech. Only by invitation.
The aim of the seminar was to discuss the perspectives of the Eastern Partnership in the ongoing discussion on the revision of the EU's European Neighbourhood Policy. The starting point for the seminar was a project of Research Center of Slovak Foreign Policy Association (RC SFPA) "Taking Stock of the Eastern Partneship in Moldova and Ukraine: Examining the Policy Framework, Tools and Resources". The project is supported Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in Berlin and Bratislava. The project analyzes the experience with the Eastern Partnership since 2009, drawing on empirical data from Ukraine and Moldova. The project aims to formulate recommendations for further policy development of the Eastern Partnership and its institutional framework and tools.

Until recently the EU enlargement used to be the most effective instrument in the EU foreign policy. Thanks to this policy at the turn of the 20th and 21st century profound and positive changes took place in the Baltic countries, Central Europe, Balkans and Turkey. Nowadays, however, the enlargement is facing a serious crisis. This publication is an outcome of a common Czech-Polish initiative with the European dimension (more information here).
