School goals
European Spring School is a short-term educational project for students launched by EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy. The main objective of the programme is to enable the participants to improve their knowledge of the Central European EU member states, of their national politics and their present and future role, priorities in connection with the Czech presidency in the EU. ESpS 2009 will also provide the participants with a floor for discussions of the topic and for sharing their opinions and ideas.
The specificity of the school is to bring together students from diverse national and educational backgrounds to interact and exchange experience, which together with the knowledge acquired during the workshops should generate new ideas and thoughts. It should help to answer a number of questions about the future of integrated Europe, and Central Europe in the EU in particular.
Students of various nationalities have a great opportunity to experience cross-cultural communication and to learn from each other's experiences in ways that can benefit their educational and professional development. All students are provided with a chance to discover different cultures and get the first-hand information about Central Europe in the context of the EU integration process, whereas students from Western Europe have a possibility to encounter the partners from Central Europe.
Students will leave the School as members of an emerging network of alumni living throughout the world. The spring school will serve as a networking event for young leaders who share their contacts and intellectual resources that will prove beneficial throughout their careers.
Besides the academic knowledge and intellectual training, students will enjoy their free time in Prague taking part in various special events and tours organized by the School staff.
