The Second World War was a fundamental event in the development of Europe and its current shape. But are we still aware of this today? How does the younger generation feel about the conflict, which is 80 years away this year? And do we still need to remember it?

On 22 December the Think Visegrad in Brussels represented by Brussels Office of EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy held an online round table, where many aspects on the cooperation between European Union and the Asian continent were analysed. The roundtable covered themes such as economical prosperity, technological advancements and the primary goals of and the role played by Central-Eastern European countries.

On 17 December EUROPEUM held a livestream discussion covering and discussing digitalization. Digitalization is often regarded as one of the crucial aspects of a prosperous future of Europe. It is clear that we are all dependent on advanced technologies, especially in times of the coronavirus pandemic. But what role does 5G network development play in the campaign for digital sovereignty of Europe?

On December 15, the very last debate of 2020 from the series EU± took place. The debate was organized by the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy and the Department of European Studies of FSV UK. The topic of „Portuguese and Czech Presidency of the EU Council” was discussed by Ambassador of Portugal to the Czech Republic Luís de Almeida Sampaio, our Associate Research Fellow Zuzana Stuchlíková and former Permanent Representative to the EU Milena Vicenová. The debate took place in English and was charied by Tomáš Weiss, researcher, and head of the Department of European Studies FSV UK.
