Europa Cinema: Generation Euromajdan | Screening and Debate

In Ukraine, they are known as “the Three Musketeers.” Mustafa Nayyem, Svitlana Zalishchuk, and Serhiy Leshchenko worked in the media and later became civic activists. These leading figures of the Maidan Revolution became part of the very old structures they had fought against after the 2014 elections. They took seats in the Ukrainian parliament and tried to change the corrupt system from within. The stories of their political careers mirror Ukraine’s own journey toward identity, democracy, and geopolitical stability, during which the country has balanced between the West and the East. Both the trio of protagonists and the nation as a whole must overcome a series of obstacles, from personal disagreements to Russia’s invasion. The fragility of democracy in wartime takes on an entirely new dimension.
