STVR | US ambassador in Poland negotiates on Ukraine
Polish President Andrzej Duda talks to the US ambassador about the situation in Ukraine. According to the US embassy, this is the only meeting between an ambassador and a European leader. Viktor Daněk, deputy director of the EUROPEUM Institute, comments for STVR.

Donald Trump deliberately chooses only some European partners and refuses to communicate in the format of the European Union as a whole. He is known to have above-standard relations with some European politicians, including Andrzej Duda. I think it is logical for the Trump administration to look for partners in the eastern wing of NATO, especially now that Poland has the EU Presidency.
