RILSA: Climate policy after a year of energy crisis

Our Senior Research Fellow Kateřina Davidová published an article focusing on climate policy in the journal Forum for Social Policy. The text focuses on developments in energy and climate policy over the past year, defined by the Russian war in Ukraine, the energy crisis and rising inflation. The periodical is published by the Research Institute for Labour and Social Affairs (RILSA).

The European Commission has therefore prepared a series of measures to stabilise the market and ensure that there will be plenty of gas next year. Our senior research fellow Kateřina Davidová commented on what measures are on the table and how individual countries will respond to the crisis.

iROZHLAS has prepared an overview of the energy measures discussed by the European Union in the context of the energy crisis. The review shows that the EU's securing of the energy market is not in line with the actions taken by national states. This inconsistency was also commented on by our researcher Michal Hrubý, who pointed to the need to proceed to a comprehensive solution at the level of the European Commission.

Tereza Novotná, an associate research fellow at our Institute, has provided a commentary for the E15 portal. In the article, she discusses the visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Prague and the energy crisis that threatens the EU. According to Novotná, responsibility also lies with other countries, including the Czech Republic, which also failed to develop other energy sources in time.

Michal Hrubý also commented in more detail for iRozhlas on the necessity of building energy independence from Russia, reducing annual consumption and Czech interests.
