We would like to invite you to another in a series of debates of Café Evropa, this time on the topic of the rule of law in the EU. The debate is organized by the Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic and the Institute for European Policy EUROPEUM in cooperation with Eurocentrum Prague. Our research fellow Kateřina Davidová was a guest of the EURACTIV podcast. The podcast is focusing on the question of climate strategy and its fulfillment by the Czech Republic in comparison with other member states from the V4 and the EU.

The online conference organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Portuguese Republic in Prague and the European Commission in the Czech Republic will address the very current issues of health and healthcare in the post-covid world. Director of the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy Vladimír Bartovic was a guest at today’s broadcast of Rádio Slovensko, where he commented on the decision made by the Slovak government led by Igor Matovič regarding the purchase of Russian vaccine Sputnik V. Vaccines, which are currently being used in the EU are properly registered, whereas the Russian one is not. Nevertheless, opinions on the vaccine differs broadly.

Our institute is a professional guarantor of the National Convention on EU Affairs on the topic of current health challenges at the European level, which will take place online on Friday 5 March.

In her article for Info.cz, our research fellow Jana Juzová analyses the victory of the Vetëvendosje party! (Self-determination!) in Kosovo's parliamentary elections which took place mid-February.

Our research fellow Kateřina Davidová commented for the server Euractiv.cz on a study initiated by four MEPs concerning the climate neutrality, which focuses on the case of the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. Davidová emphasized that the goal of climate neutrality applies to the European Union as such, not to its individual member states.

The director of our institute, Vladimir Bartovic, summarized and commented on the content of the virtual European summit on the steps that the European Union should take in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

In his latest contribution, Márk Szabó deals with the issue of relations of the Visegrad Group, especially its internal coherence, but also the relationship with the EU.

The online newspaper Euractiv has written an article on changing migration policy in the EU. In the article, Euractiv cited three recommendations made by EUROPEUM within the National Convent.
