Brief o COVID-19: Chtějí Češi silnější EU, nebo příhodného obětního beránka?

• Na úvod je třeba poznamenat, že se nejedná o kritiku českých opatření COVID-19, která byla včasná a dosud přiměřeně účinná, ani o omluvu opatření EU během krize. Staré přísloví „vše, co děláte před pandemií, se bude zdát alarmistické. Všechno, co jste během ní udělali, se vám poté bude stát nedostatečné“ platí pro EU stejně jako pro členské státy. Jakmile však krize skončí, vypukne politický boj o budoucnost Evropy a evropskou demokracii, což zasáhne všechny občany.

Russia has launched a disinformation campaign to sow discord within the EU. There is a failure to highlight that the COVID-19 outbreak was exacerbated by initial Chinese efforts to suppress news and containment efforts through, for instance, prosecution of medical professionals. Proper awareness has not been raised to the fact that the exclusion of Taiwan from the WHO due to China’s political aspirations could have saved lives.
