We invite you to the EU debate ± on the National Recovery Plan presented by the Czech government in April this year. The debate is organized with the support of Jean Monnet Chair TeDEUSS - Teaching and debating EU small states' security at FSV UK and co-financed by the European Union's Europe for Citizens program.

Our Research Fellow Jana Juzová spoke for ČRo Plus on Balkan non-papers. According to her, the first non-paper was much more radical than the second.

Our Research Fellow Vít Havelka wrote an article for the Brussels Morning news website. The article presents the attitudes of Czech society towards the Green Deal. This main topic will be introduced on the Prague European Summit, which will take place on July 12-14.

We would like to invite you to another debate from the Café Evropa series organised for Europe Day. The main topic will be the future of the European Union as a project of European unification. The debate is organised by the Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic, European Parliament office and the Institute for European Policy EUROPEUM in cooperation with Eurocentrum Prague. The media partner of the debate is Deník.cz. The debate will take place on Monday 10 May at 5.30 pm on the Facebook Café Evropa and will be held in Czech language only.

Our Associate Research Fellow Katarína Svitková has written the second article of the new publication series EUROPEUM: 2021–2027 Horizon Europe. In her policy brief, Katarína presents the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) as one of the main components of the Horizon Europe Innovation Pillar and describes its program and objectives.

The director of the EUROPEUM Institute, Vladimír Bartovic, commented today on the covid passports, which should be operational from 1 July. The problems faced by the introduction of the Digital Green Certificate and what exactly would the pass mean for citizens have been addressed in the interview.

Christian Kvorning Lassen from the Institute for European Policy EUROPEUM together with Jan Kovář from the Institute of International Relations wrote a comment "Disastrous pandemic management puts the Czech Republic at a critical democratic juncture" for the EPIN Report on the impact of the COVID pandemic on EU democracies.

Kateřina Davidová wrote a commentary reflecting the new emission targets in the context of the Czech Republic.

Our Associate Research Fellow Katarína Svitková wrote the first article for the new EUROPEUM publications series: 2021–2027 Horizon Europe. In a policy brief Katarína summarises the objectives of Horizon 2021-2027 and introduces the "Innovation” pillar of the European Union funding scheme for the following years.

The director of the Institute for European Policy EUROPEUM, Vladimír Bartovic, together with representatives of Amnesty International and the Association for International Affairs, signed an open letter addressed not only to Russian representatives but also to Czech Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhánek and Prime Minister Andrei Babiš.
