Czechia is looking for a way to remain competitive in Europe while also accessing billions in EU funds. It is not just about the state budget, but also about its future position among European players. Filip Křenek, an analyst at the EUROPEUM Institute, commented for Seznam Zprávy.

We are sensitive to fluctuations in global trade. The large share of the automotive industry combined with expensive energy makes us a vulnerable economy. Energy-intensive industries should be located where electricity is cheap – and Czechia is not one of those places.

We need to change the Czech Republic's energy policy and expand the list of export markets. However, in India, for example, we face fierce competition from China, which offers high-quality products at lower prices. Changes are necessary, but they will not be easy.
