Expectations are enormous; I think many people, not only in Brussels but in most European capitals, are relieved because patience with Viktor Orbán ran out long ago. There was great frustration that Viktor Orbán repeatedly blocked crucial strategic decisions. On the other hand, Péter Magyar’s views will not be so far removed from Viktor Orbán’s in many respects, and I think this will be particularly evident in the case of Ukraine, even though he promises to normalize relations with Brussels.
