This article examines the evolving relationship between the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the Republic of Korea (ROK) and argues that it is best understood as an emerging form of like-minded strategic alignment rather than as an extension of traditional alliance politics. While NATO–ROK cooperation has attracted growing scholarly and policy attention, it is often interpreted primarily through the lens of converging threat perceptions or as a by-product of US-led security strategies.
