Our Martin Michelot wrote an article for the Jacques Delors Institute about the effect of the activation of Article 7 against Poland and Hungary.

"The past period highlights the inability of Article 7 to correct potential deviations from the rule of law in the member states, with the exception that the much touted 'strengthening of the dialogue' between the Council of Ministers and the Member State may possibly help to reconcile positions. "
