Head of the Brussels office Žiga Faktor commented on the outcome of the presidential elections in Turkey on RTVS.
"After the results of the first round of elections, Erdogan's victory was already expected to some extent. The current figures more or less correspond to the fact that the result of the second round confirmed the trend of the last two weeks. A few weeks ago, however, the forecasts were much more balanced. At one point there was even a discussion about whether Kemal Kiliçdaroglu would be able to win in the first round. The reasons for the strong support for the opposition candidate were mainly economic."
