Over the past two years, both countries failed to keep the deficit under the limit of three percent of national GDP that is binding for all Eurozone member states.

Director of EUROPEUM, Vladimír Bartovic, was a guest of Czech Radio Plus. He commented on today's decision of Eurozone member states' finance ministers to impose sanctions on Spain and Portugal for exceeding state budget deficit limits. Such a decision was made for the first time in the EU history.
