Her interdisciplinary research analyses the complex relationships between law, religion, and gender across European and Middle Eastern contexts. With a strong policy orientation, her scholarship engages with pressing issues such as human rights, women’s rights, minority protections, Islamophobia, and the evolving dynamics of European integration. This work has been featured in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Oxford Journal of Law and Religion, Middle East Critique, and Law and Critique. In her monograph, Un-Veiling Dichotomies (Springer 2021), Dr. Baldi offers a critical analysis of veiling politics and the secular/religious divide in legal and political discourse in Europe, contributing valuable insights to both academic and policy debates.
Beyond academia, Dr. Baldi brings over a decade of experience in International Development and Cooperation. She has served as an adviser and consultant for institutions such as the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation and various NGOs, where she led transnational research teams and conducted field-based policy analyses.
