Public Recording of the Café Evropa Podcast: Europe, my homeland

We would like to invite you to a public recording of the Café Evropa podcast. This time we'll talk about what modern patriotism looks like today and how citizens’ relationship with their own country is changing in a globalized world.
17. November 2025

When you hear the word “patriotism,” it may sound a bit old-fashioned. Yet a healthy relationship between citizens and their country is just as important today as it was in the past. But what does modern patriotism look like in the 21st century? What shapes it — and is it being changed by globalization, membership in international organizations, or the security challenges Europe faces?

And what about us here in the Czech Republic? Do Czechs still love their country 36 years after the Velvet Revolution?

When? Monday, 17th November, 13:30–14:30
Where? Europe Experience, Národní 10, Prague 1, 110 00

🔎 These questions will be discussed by:
Paulína Tabery — Sociologist, Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences
Jan Veverka — Investor, member of the active reserves, and co-founder of the D Group
Vojtěch Bahenský — Security analyst, Institute of International Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University

🎤 Moderated by:
Viktor Daněk, EUROPEUM Institute
