CNN Prima News | Starmer's Summit on Ukraine

The British Prime Minister has called on his foreign colleagues to put pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin. Will Europe be able to create enough pressure to get Russia to the negotiating table and could Donald Trump exert similar pressure? Viktor Danek, deputy director of the EUROPEUM Institute, commented for CNN Prima News.
16. March 2025

Both sides, Russia and Ukraine, must agree to a ceasefire. Ukraine has agreed to a 30-day ceasefire without any conditions, but Russia has so far been wavering and, on the contrary, escalating its demands, which may be a signal of the intentions with which Russia is entering the negotiations. There is also the question of the United States, which has so far acted purely autonomously, without cooperation with its European partners. The United States was not invited to the virtual summit. It is the United States that now holds the triumphs and can put pressure on Vladimir Putin.
