CNN Prima News | Support of Ukraine in Europe
The Czech Republic is at the tail end of support if we ask about convinced supporters, but at the same time there is a large part of the population that is somewhere in between, not completely convinced, but at the same time realising that it is now more important to maintain support and would like to discuss what form it will take. But it is somewhat shocking how far support has fallen, at the beginning of the war the Czech Republic was one of the strongest supporters and we very quickly lost the confidence of the public. Viktor Daněk, deputy director of the EUROPEUM Institute, commented for CNN Prima News.

There are large regional differences in support. Our part of Europe, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, are countries which, although they are closer to the region and much more exposed to the negative effects - the refugee wave, the security threat and the increased presence of troops - support is really declining. There is a “fatigue effect”, and we can debate whether it is in place.
But in the West, on the other hand, where it used to be the case that the conflict was seen as distant, these states have now come to understand that the conflict affects them. Russia's actions in Ukraine are trying to disrupt the security architecture of Europe, and this affects everyone.
