In the early 90s, we found in the census that the vast majority of the Czech Republic declares a Czech ethnicity. For many, there is a confusion of terms between what it is to be a Czech citizen and a member of the Czech nation. It means that there is an assumption that this is the country of the Czechs, very homogeneous ethnically. So, on the part of the population we can find some reluctance to a certain type of migration, as well as expectations about how their integration should be. And, this sociological part is important to understand it.
Many immigrants do not see the Czech Republic as a final destination and prefer to continue to Western countries because they are richer, for generous social benefits, because there are family or community networks and they prefer to be there.
