Negotiations on the EU leadership positions will continue next week. On Thursday, leaders and presidents are due to make their final decision at a summit in Brussels. Vladimír Bartovic, President of EUROPEUM Institute, commented on whether Ursula von der Leyen will defend her post as President of the European Commission.

Experience in particular speaks in her favour. Ursula von der Leyen has guided the European Union through the covid and energy crisis and all the consequences that have arisen in Europe as a result of Russia's aggression against Ukraine. She is a very experienced politician who, over the years, has developed good contacts with most of the leaders of the Member States of the European Union.
