The European Commission's preliminary proposal for new rules on stoves and boilers has provoked a strong reaction from their manufacturers and Czech politicians. The domestic debate is exceptional in this respect. Viktor Daněk, deputy director of the EUROPEUM Institute, commented for Deník N.

To move to the level of the European Commission advocating something is a profound misunderstanding. On the part of the media, I could forgive it for jumping on the lobbyist line. However, it is different on a political level, where government politicians at the ministerial level have started to fight fiercely for it.

This is a technical matter that should be dealt with by an official, send our opinion and be done with it. It should not be about the destructive style of communication the government is demonstrating.
