I když se zesměšňování a ponižování kulturních norem a hodnot EU stalo pro Fidesz a Orbána standardním způsobem komunikace, Orbán často opakuje, že pro Maďarsko neexistuje jiná budoucnost než ta v EU. Málokdy si ale nechá ujít příležitost, aby této pozici nabídl protiváhu argumentem, že Maďarsko by se také mohlo obejít bez EU, ale zůstat v ní je zkrátka pohodlné. Často také dodává, že si budoucnost evropské kultury představuje jinak a jeho práce se soustředí na to, aby se tak změnila.
