Hospodářské noviny | Czechia is not yet a battery powerhouse. It though has a potential in production and recycling.

The battery industry offers huge business opportunities in the coming years. The Czech Republic has a chance to become a leader if it adapts its economic strategies, speeds up permitting processes and invests in the entire value chain. Filip Křenek, project coordinator and analyst at EUROPEUM Institute, commented for Hospodářské noviny.

In debates about electromobility, the myth that large-capacity lithium-ion batteries are only five percent recyclable is often repeated. But this is nonsense. According to current data, up to 60 percent of the material used in batteries can be recycled. This is not to mention the possibilities of refurbishing and reusing them.
