Thanks to his existing reputation in the European Commission, Jozef Síkela has a certain advantage over other upcoming Commissioners. Though it remains to be determined whether he will be able to use this advantage well. Jozef Síkela will have the opportunity to negotiate with partners abroad (outside of Europe) on some of the most important issues. For example, raw material self-sufficiency, that is, opening up new markets in partner countries, Africa and Latin America.
