Seznam Zprávy | Von der Leyen strengthened, a debacle for Patriots

European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen survives a vote of no confidence. Viktor Daněk, deputy director of the EUROPEUM Institute, commented for the Seznam Zprávy portal.

Despite the dissatisfaction, quite a lot of loyalty was shown.

Although Ursula von der Leyen's political position has not weakened, the attitudes of world leaders will not be affected - especially in the case of US and Russian Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.

Both are trying not to see the European Union as their counterpart. They do not deal with Ursula von de Leyen as equals, but choose, on a divide-and-rule basis, the leaders they are willing to talk to and ignore the others, which, of course, weakens Europe internally.
