The positions of ANO, SPD, and the Motorists movement could weaken the Czech Republic’s standing in the European Union. Andrej Babiš thus risks that Brussels might start treating him as cautiously as it does Robert Fico. Martin Vokálek, Executive Director and Head of the Brussels Office of the EUROPEUM Institute, commented on the issue for Denník N.

He repeatedly emphasizes that he is not pro-Russian, yet he has several times voted in a way that could bring joy in Moscow – for example, on motions supporting Ukraine or condemning Russian aggression.
In such a case, however, it would likely mean that Babiš would try to further centralize foreign and European policy under his control at the Office of the Government, seeking to make the ministry function more as an administrative service rather than as a key policymaker.
