STVR | Denmark to lead the Council of the European Union
The Danish Presidency seeks to respond to the many challenges that Europe faces and aims for a Europe that is safe, competitive and green. Martin Vokálek, Executive Director of EUROPEUM Institute, commented for STVR.

If we do not secure our own defence, we cannot focus our own energies on other priorities that are equally important, such as social services, education and strengthening our competitiveness. The subject of defence is being given greater priority, but the Danish Presidency will try to link the subject of defence with green issues and, last but not least, will not forget our competitiveness.
The Polish Presidency leaves the Danish Presidency with several unfinished agendas that Denmark will have to complete, such as the eighteenth sanctions package.
