TN.cz | Poland begins its EU Presidency

Poland takes over the Presidency of the Council of the EU for the second time in its history, after a 13-year break. It suceeds Hungary. Prime Minister Donald Tusk stressed that the priority for the next six months will be to strengthen security. Martin Vokálek, executive director of EUROPEUM Institute, commented for TN Live.

The big change is that Poland is a strong and active player in European integration. It is speaking out strongly in support of Ukraine and is forging closer relations with Germany and France. So the engine of European integration can get back up and running with Poland.
