The European Commission is proposing retaliatory tariffs against the U.S. at a rate of 25 percent. According to Reuters, they would apply to products such as nuts, soybeans, sausages, or diamonds. The issue was analyzed by Filip Křenek, an analyst at the EUROPEUM Institute.

We are in a situation similar to the period of Trump's first administration, when he imposed tariffs on steel and aluminum, to which the European Union responded by introducing retaliatory tariffs that specifically targeted certain typical American products. The European Union has taken a similar approach this time as well.
