Europe is therefore seeking ways to reduce its dependence on China—joint procurement and large-scale projects, such as lithium mining at Cínovec, are expected to help. Diversifying sources and reducing our dependence is certainly possible, but we won’t be able to eliminate it entirely in the foreseeable future. Today, China dominates not only part of the mining sector but, above all, the processing of critical raw materials and the downstream segments of the supply chain.
