The Danish presidency will be about uniting states, finding compromises and mediating between the EU-27. The Presidency should set the issues, but it should not put its political convictions into them. But Denmark is one of the old member states and a country with strong soft power, good diplomatic skills and a well-developed Brussels apparatus. Martin Vokálek, Executive Director of the EUROPEUM Institute, commented for ČT24.

If we do not secure our own defence, we cannot focus our own energies on other priorities that are equally important, such as social services, education and strengthening our competitiveness. The subject of defence is being given greater priority, but the Danish Presidency will try to link the subject of defence with green issues and, last but not least, will not forget our competitiveness.
