In Europe, even on strategically important issues, we increasingly disagree. It has long been clear that Czechs want a more effective European Union. They are annoyed by how long some decisions take and how bureaucratic they are, yet paradoxically reject deeper reform.
I would say that the debate about giving up the use of the veto right is downright toxic in the Czech context. We cannot want a more agile Europe and at the same time block the means to ensure that the EU will decide faster and more flexibly.
