Building capacities of Czech journalists and editors regarding the green transformation in Czechia
The project aims to engage, inform and build capacity of Czech journalists and editors in the context of EU climate policy and green transition as applied in Czechia. The project builds on the first edition of the Green Broadcast which was developed in the first half of 2025.
14. June 2026

The second edition of the Green Broadcast organises three workshops:
- The first workshop took place on the 21st of April 2026 and focused on the facts and context of ETS2. It dives into its impacts and benefits of the proposed system as of 2027. The workshop especially focuses on decarbonization of housing. The workshop was led by our researcher, Rebeka Hengalová, together with Petr Holub, former Director-General of the Climate Protection Division at the Ministry of Environment, and Kateřina Novotná, editor in chief of Business and Sustainability.
- The second workshop was held on the 12th of May 2026 and dealt with the transition to electromobility, the 2035 target, CO2 limits and impacts. Key facts and context is to be presented for this much-debated issue in Czechia. The topic was executed by Filip Křenek, a researcher from our Green Europe programme, and Jan Staněk, an expert on electromobility and economy.
- The third workshop took place on the 4th of June 2026 and focused on cities and climate change. The topic includes mitigation, adaptation and preparedness of Czech cities dealing with rising temperatures and extreme weather. Our researcher Katarína Svitková was joined by a Czech greenfluencer Rozárie Haškovcová.
