For the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, Žiga Faktor, Director of our Brussels office, and Zuzana Stuchlíková, Research Associate at EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, co-authored an article on the European expectations of the Czech and German governments' European policy.

In the most recent Eastern Monitor Jovana Vančevska focuses on the issues connected to the Brdo Declaration, the progress concerning the "enlargement process" and EU's commitment to it. Who are the frontrunners of the "enlargement process"? And which countries are stagnant? The author gives us more information about this issue in her paper, as well as its' possible outcomes.

Christian Kvorning Lassen, Director of Research at EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, contributed with his text on Bridging the digital gaps – a Czech perspective in a new publication titled: Paving the digital path in Central and Eastern Europe - Regional perspectives on advancing digital transformation and cooperation from Centre for European Perspective - CEP.

Our researcher Jana Juzová contributed to another series of analyses of four experts answering a question from the field of international politics and economics. This publication examined whether the Western Balkans should participate in the Conference on the Future of Europe.

Lenka Farkačová wrote a EU MONITOR about the upcoming workforce crisis (the lack of employees not only in the case of EU countries, but also for example in the USA) and how it causes a tendency to deviate from the ideal state of long-term sustainable labour market.

Our Research Fellow Danielle Piatkiewicz and Project Manager Alexandra Visnerova wrote a background paper under the Transatlantic Policy Forum in which they evaluate the new transatlantic agenda and goals of both EU and the US and assess how the two sides can work closer together to tackle geopolitical challengers, align on security, trade, climate, and digital policies. The paper offers recommendations on how to strengthen the transatlantic relationship, with special emphasis placed on the Central and Eastern European region.

Our researchers Jana Juzová and Katharine Klačanský have written a background paper on EU relations with the Eastern Neighbourhood countries, in which they answer three specific questions. Should the EU continue to approach the Eastern Partnership group as a whole, or should it diversify its approach more? Should the EU develop a specific green strategy for the Eastern Neighbourhood countries and, if so, on what principles? How can the EU counter the influence of other powers (Russia, China, possibly Turkey) working against EU interests in the Eastern Neighbourhood?

Our research fellow Vít Havelka contributed to the publication "MINILATERAL COOPERATION IN THE EU: Internal Cohesion, Group Dynamics, and Voting Behaviour of Selected State Blocks", published by the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade. He is the author of a chapter on the Visegrad Group.

On 22nd of October 2021, Think Visegrad platform, Brussels office of EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy and Wilfried Martens Centre for European studies organised an expert round table titled New Pact on Migration and Asylum: Breaking the Deadlock. The event was held under the Chatham House Rules, with the participation of experts from the think-tank community as well as diplomats, representatives of the European Commission and UNHCR.

Our Jana Juzová, Alexandra Ilková, and Ondřej Pešek collaborated on the report of EU-Western Balkans Summit and its consequences. The conference took place in Carolinum on November 5, 2021. The speakers discussed relations between the European Union and Western Balkans and ways how to get the EU enlargement agenda back on track from the state of a deep crisis.

Our intern Jana Záhořová wrote a report on this years second debate about the EU's relations with Japan and its progress.

Michal Hrubý, a Researcher at EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, wrote under the Think Visegrad in Brussels project his policy paper "Potential for CCS in V4 – will we seize the momentum?".
