The Future of Transatlantic Relations - Challenges and Opportunities amid Shifting U.S. Priorities

The EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy invites you to a public discussion on the future of transatlantic relations and Europe’s role in a rapidly changing global environment. Join us as leading experts explore how shifting U.S. priorities are reshaping cooperation and what this means for Europe, including Central and Eastern European partners.
13. November 2025

How is the transatlantic partnership evolving under the current U.S. administration? With shifting American priorities and a recalibration of Washington’s global role, new responsibilities and opportunities are emerging for Europe.

As the U.S. reassesses its global engagement, Europe — including the Central and Eastern European region, is increasingly expected to take on a more proactive role in defense, industry, and technological development.

This discussion will focus on how these changes can strengthen transatlantic cooperation, support Ukraine, and enhance Europe’s resilience at a time of global uncertainty.

🎙 Confirmed Speakers

👉 Jörn Fleck — Senior Director, Europe Center, Atlantic Council
👉 Giovanna de Maio — Head of Transatlantic Program, Policy Planning Unit, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, France
