Last week the discussions about the political groups of the European Parliament finalized. What exactly are they and what are their tasks? And what role will Czech MEPs play in them? Viktor Daněk, Deputy Director of EUROPEUM Institute answered these questions on the morning show of CNN Prima News.

In the Czech Parliament, we have political parties – some are in government, some in opposition. Roughly similarly, it functions at the European level. In the European Parliament, there is no government and opposition, so individual national parties join larger groups to better project their influence and have a stronger negotiating position.
