Ireland is taking over the presidency of the EU Council—one of its most difficult tasks will be negotiating the next seven-year financial framework. Martin Vokálek, executive director of EUROPEUM Institute and head of its Brussels office, commented on the matter for CNN Prima News.

Negotiations on the European budget are the most difficult within the EU-27—so Ireland won’t have an easy time of it. In addition to the long-term European budget, it will also have to focus on other priorities, whether it’s Ukraine or strengthening competitiveness.
