The 28th UN Climate Summit, or COP28, kicks off in Dubai on Thursday. EUROPEUM Senior Research Fellow Kateřina Davidová commented on the summit's direction.

"With this year's summit, it is difficult to predict what direction it will take, which can complicate negotiations. At the same time, there is scepticism about the purity of intent and commitment of COP28 chairman Sultan al-Jaber, who is a director of the state oil company."
