The Czech Republic is being hit by a heatwave. Temperatures reached 35 degrees Celsius on Thursday. This is particularly stressful for people in large cities. Katarína Svitková, an analyst at the EUROPEUM Institute, commented on the situation.

Especially in Spain, in cities like Barcelona or Madrid, it is common to open so-called climate shelters. These can be located in public offices, schools, museums, or various institutions. A fairly important factor is also the shading of streets.
