TN.cz | What do the results of the European elections indicate about the mood in Czech society?

How do the results of the European Parliament elections reflect the mood in society? Have predictions about the new composition of MEPs being predominantly right-wing been fulfilled? And what skills are essential for the success as a Member of the European Parliament? Viktor Daněk, Deputy Director of EUROPEUM Institute, comments in an interview for TN.cz.
10. June 2024

ANO party won the elections on the promise to ban the Green Deal, strongly oppose migration, and resist the federalization of Europe. However, in the previous electoral term, they were part of the Renew Europe party, which supports the Green Deal, migration, and European federalization. Therefore, it would not surprise me if there were efforts on their part to find a place where they feel more comfortable. On the other hand, due to their victory, ANO party s now a very sought-after partner. They have plenty of votes, and I believe pragmatism will again prevail here.
