Rebeka is a Research Fellow of EUROPEUM’s Green Europe programme. She studied Socio-ecological Economics and Policy at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Her specialisation was social policy; in her master’s thesis, she focused on Czech family policy in the context of company childcare. In EUROPEUM, she continues in the socio-ecological direction, researching transport poverty in the context of the Emission Trading System (ETS2) implementation and its mitigation through the Social Climate Fund. She advises on the allocation of the Fund at the Ministry of Environment. Additionally, she leads research on the decarbonisation of housing and the role of citizens and state subsidies in this effort, all within a V4 consortium. Previously, she examined the impact of decarbonisation of the Czech automotive industry on its workers’ employment stability and re-skilling needs. She loves dogs, ballet and coffee.

On June 20, 2023, the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy organized a closed round table entitled Electric cars and jobs: how to prepare for changes in the automotive industry?. The debate was attended by experts from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Ministry of the Environment, as well as from international research organizations, institutions of the European Union, the private sector and, last but not least, representatives of trade unions operating in the automotive industry. The climate team of EUROPEUM is currently delivering the 3rd year of its project focused on the decarbonisation of the automotive industry in the Czech Republic. We want to build upon our experience and move this work forward with a more targeted approach. We will focus on three main areas, which we have identified as crucial parts of the puzzle for transitioning to cleaner modes of transport.

How can the EC proposal for the revision of the European electricity market be assessed from the Czech Republic's perspective? How can the revision of the internal gas market rules be assessed in the context of the energy crisis? How should the EU prepare for the coming winter?
