We warmly invite you to a debate on Monday, July 21, this time on the topic: How to Cool Down Prague – The City and Heatwaves.
The year 2024 was the hottest year on record, following the previously record-breaking year of 2023. In addition to rising global average temperatures, Europe has experienced numerous instances of extreme weather, including summer heatwaves.
The well-known phenomenon of the urban heat island is now colliding with an increasing number of consecutive tropical days and nights. Overheated cities no longer cool down sufficiently overnight, which has serious consequences — from impacts on infrastructure to significant public health concerns.
