Our Senior Research Fellow Jana Juzová has prepared a summary and recommendations based on the roundtable discussion of the National Convention on the EU held on 26 October 2022 on the topic "Ukraine's Integration into the EU". The Convention produced three recommendations based on the answers to the following questions: How can the EU and the Czech Republic support Ukraine in the post-war reconstruction and reforms necessary for EU integration? What tools does the EU have at its disposal for the deeper economic and political integration of Ukraine? Is the EU ready to fully integrate Ukraine and other candidate countries?

The Czech Republic should strive to ensure that the European Union fulfils its financial promises to Ukraine in a timely and responsible manner, especially with regard to macro-financial assistance, the provision of which should continue during 2023.The Czech Republic should also strive to involve Czech actors, including the private sector, as actively and widely as possible in EU and national instruments to support Ukraine's reconstruction and to use its experience in the transition. At the same time, the social dimension of reconstruction should not be neglected in the post-war reconstruction process, as it is an important element in preventing future social conflicts.
