The decision of U.S. President Donald Trump to impose tariffs on imported goods has hurt American consumers the most.

By introducing retaliatory tariffs, the EU is sending a clear signal that it will not accept these measures without a response and is defending its interests. In the current situation, it has no reason to back down from these countermeasures.
