ECF Transport

The ECF Transport project explores transport decarbonisation in Czech regions and provides an in-depth analysis of transport systems status quo, their availability, accessibility, and affordability, and exploring sustainable mobility trends, innovations, and policy pathways for long-term resilience. The topics are explored from the regional governance level in Czechia and abroad, contributing to best practice sharing and international as well as intra-national exchange.

The digital transformation of the labour market poses significant challenges to existing legal protection systems. New forms of (self)employment are created that fall outside the scope of existing labour and social rights, the way algorithms function is often not transparent and highly digitised work often goes hand in hand with worker isolation.

Strategic raw materials, such as steel, aluminum, and critical raw materials (CRMs), are playing an increasingly important role in European industrial and security strategies. They are becoming increasingly important not only in the field of clean technologies but also in terms of the defense industry and the construction of energy infrastructure. The project aims to identify opportunities and obstacles for the decarbonization of the Czech steel industry and critical raw materials sectors, with an emphasis on circular solutions.

Last week, the tenth year of our project EuropaSecura was marked by a nationwide final round of the competition, taking place in a military base in Brdy. The competing students got to experience what the representatives of the European Union are facing during a crisis situation, as well as learned how diplomatic negotiations take place within the EU and NATO.

We organized another Civil Servant Mobility Program study trip from February 13 to February 18, 2017. The project, realized within the Think Visegrad platform, was focused on sharing experience in the field of educational management in the Czech Republic with a selected civil servants from Ukraine. The group consisted of three directors of schools from three Ukrainian regions.

EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy organized another Civil Servant Mobility Program study trip from October 23 to 29, 2016. The project, realized within the Think Visegrad platform, was focused on sharing experience in the field of educational management in the Czech Republic with a selected civil servants from Ukraine. The group consisted of four directors of schools in various Ukrainian regions and two local officials who deal with the topic of education.
