On 23 March 2026, EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, in cooperation with the Think Visegrad Platform, organised a roundtable discussion focused on the future of EU competitiveness in an increasingly challenging geopolitical and economic environment.

Join us for the next installment in our series of open debates, “What’s New in the European Parliament?” This time, we’ll discuss whether the 28th regime will give European startups the boost they’re expecting.

The debate will follow up on the Draghi Report—we will explore the topic of the European Union’s competitiveness at a time when the global environment is changing rapidly. We will focus on the role of Central and Eastern European countries, which today face not only intensifying international competition but also rapid technological development and growing geopolitical tensions.

The European Commission has unveiled long-awaited measures to strengthen European industry and keep pace with China in the field of so-called clean technologies. In an evening news program on Radiožurnál, Rebeka Hengalová, a researcher at EUROPEUM Institute, discussed what the Industrial Accelerator Act entails and what protections it will provide for so-called green products manufactured in the EU.
